Pink belongs to the young — the tradition is firm that a young girl wears alvan, living colour, and never black, not even in mourning. Butas drawn in dotted outline float across the field, the almond-flame motif that is the very basis of the Bakı type, held inside a running ivy border. Its name comes from the pink ground (çəhrayı) and the buta it carries.
